Recommended Method

To receive copies of emails in Gmail, the best option is to set up your email in Gmail as a POP account. You have the option to Save copies of emails on the server during set up or to delete them off the server after Gmail downloads. If you use the later method, you'll connect to Gmail instead of of the server.
