Scheduled Server Upgrade / Migration (Nov 1, 11pm ET)

On November 1, 2019 @ 11pm ET, we'll be upgrading our servers and during the upgrade, all our cPanel accounts will be migrated to Interworx Control Panel in response to cPanel’s significant increase to their pricing structure announced on June 27, 2019.

cPanel’s announcement caught the entire hosting industry by surprise. The rates mentioned in the cPanel blog post indicate an estimated 50%+ increase cost, per account.  With the new cPanel pricing structure, there will be a significant price increase, not only for us, but for our hosting customers.  There is a currently a mass exodus from cPanel, as many of the the largest hosting companies, including Siteground, Namehero and GoDaddy have already migrated (or planning migrations) from cPanel as well.

Instead of increasing our hosting prices, we researched other Control Panels available and selected Interworx as a comparable solution to match all of the cPanel’s feature we have enabled for your hosting account.  On the market for nearly 20 years, the InterworxHosting control panel is feature-rich like cPanel and has an equally intuitive user interface for hosting customers to manage the services operating their websites.

What happens next:

On November 1, 2019 at 11pm, we will start the server and account migrations to Interworx. While we always do our best to minimize any downtime, there may be potential brief periods of downtime as the servers are rebooted during the process. If you experience any issues extending beyond this, please let us know. IP addresses and domain name services will not be affected. No action will be required by you, even if you are using an external DNS service to point your domain to your site. After the migration, our team will briefly go through every site we host to make sure there are all operational. The day before the migration, a full server backup will be initiated to Amazon cloud storage services to protect you from any potential data loss.

No further action is required on your part, but please keep an eye out for any additional email updates regarding the upgrade process.
