Important Notice: Google reCAPTCHA Migration to Google Cloud

  • Sunday, 1st June, 2025
  • 23:33pm

Google is moving all reCAPTCHA services to its Cloud Platform. If your website uses reCAPTCHA (those “I’m not a robot” or image puzzles), you’ll need to update your setup before the end of 2025 to avoid service disruptions.

What’s changing?

  • Google is phasing out the old version (“reCAPTCHA Classic”).
  • You’ll need to switch to the new version called reCAPTCHA Enterprise, which is more secure and cloud-based.
  • The new version is still free for most users (up to 10,000 uses per month).

Google is migrating all versions of reCAPTCHA, including:

  • reCAPTCHA v2 (checkbox and image challenge)
  • Invisible reCAPTCHA
  • reCAPTCHA v3 (score-based, no user interaction)
