In January 2017, browsers will begin flagging non-secure sites that accept passwords or payment information with a security alert - informing people that their data is not protected as part of a long-term plan to mark all HTTP sites as non-secure.

Site owners who want to avoid having their HTTP sites labelled as non-secure have roughly three months to secure their sites.

Sign up or upgrade your account to one of our cPanel + SSL Hosting Plans. All our new hosting plans include one-click SSL to enable as many SSL certificates as you need for all of your domains and subdomains individually.  More Information.

Ultimately, all non-https websites will include a ‘Not Secure’ alert in the browser that will:

  • Erode user satisfaction and trust
  • Reduce search engine ranking value
  • Undermine website performance and ROI
